// INTRODUCTION

1 Bit Studio ("we", "our", or "us") operates the 1 Bit Arcade mobile application ("the App"). This Privacy Policy explains what information the App handles and how it is used.

// INFORMATION WE COLLECT

1 Bit Studio itself collects as little as possible. The App integrates Google AdMob to show ads in the free version, and AdMob collects its own data — that section is below.

No Account Required: You do not need to register or sign in to play.
No Personal Data Requested by Us: We do not ask for your name, email, contacts, photos, or precise location.
Local Game Data: Your high scores, settings, and premium unlock status are stored locally on your device.
Leaderboard Submissions (optional): If you choose to submit a score to the global leaderboard, only the display name you type in and your numeric score for that game are transmitted to our backend. You can play every game without ever submitting a score.
Purchase Information: Premium unlock is processed entirely by Apple. We only receive a confirmation that the unlock is owned by your Apple ID — no payment details reach us.

// ADVERTISING

The free version of 1 Bit Arcade shows ads served by Google AdMob (a Google service). Premium users do not see any ads, and AdMob is not loaded for them.

When you use the free version, AdMob may collect and process the following on Google's behalf:

Device information (model, operating system, language, time zone)
IP address and approximate (city/country-level) location derived from it
Advertising identifiers — on iOS, the IDFA is only used if you grant permission via Apple's App Tracking Transparency prompt; if you decline, AdMob will serve non-personalized ads only
Ad interaction data (impressions, clicks, view duration)

This data is handled directly by Google and is subject to Google's Privacy Policy. 1 Bit Studio does not receive personal data from AdMob — only aggregate revenue and performance reports.

How to control ad personalization:

iOS: Settings → Privacy & Security → Tracking — toggle off "Allow Apps to Request to Track" or deny the prompt the first time it appears.
You can opt out of personalized ads across Google services at adssettings.google.com.
Purchase the one-time premium unlock to remove ads entirely.

// DATA STORAGE

Game progress and high scores are stored locally in the App's sandboxed storage on your device.
Leaderboard entries (display name + score + game) are stored on our backend, hosted on Supabase, so other players can see the global top scores.
We do not store IP addresses, device identifiers, or any other personal data alongside leaderboard entries.

// THIRD-PARTY SERVICES

Google AdMob: Serves ads in the free version (see Advertising section above). Governed by Google's Privacy Policy.
Apple StoreKit: For processing the optional premium unlock. Governed by Apple's Privacy Policy.
Supabase: For hosting leaderboard data submitted voluntarily by players. Governed by Supabase's Privacy Policy.

// CHOICE & CONTROL

You have full control over your data:

You can play the entire game offline without ever connecting to the leaderboard.
You choose the display name shown on the leaderboard — we recommend not using your real name.
You can request removal of a leaderboard entry by emailing us at [email protected] with the display name and approximate submission time.
Deleting the App removes all local game data from your device.

// DATA SECURITY

All connections between the App and our backend use HTTPS.
No personally identifying information is required to play or submit a score.
Local game data lives in the App's private sandbox provided by iOS.

// CHILDREN'S PRIVACY

1 Bit Studio does not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. We do not request any personal data directly. Parents should be aware that:

The free version shows ads via Google AdMob; AdMob has its own policies around ads shown to children.
The optional leaderboard allows users to enter any display name — supervision is recommended for younger players.
The one-time premium unlock removes all ads.
